The disabled 500lb lion and his unlikely Dachshund friend
A disabled lion called Bonedigger has formed a rather unusual and unlikely bond with a miniature Dachshund dog called Milo, the pair have become inseparable ever since the lion was a cub.
While Bonedigger, who weighs in at 500lb may dwarf Milo, the eight-year-old Dachshund rarely leaves his side, in fact, they are so close that he leans in to kiss the lion. Bonedigger and Milo, cuddle, eat and play together at the G.W Exotic Animal Park in Wynnewood, Oklahoma, and are looked after by zookeeper and double amputee John Reinke.

Bonedigger was born with a metabolic bone disease that left him mildly crippled and has also struck up an unusual bond with zookeeper John Reinke, who unfortunately lost both of his legs following a bungee jump accident.
John said: “This friendship between an 11-pound wiener dog and a 500-pound lion is the only of its kind in the world ever seen.”
John, who hand-reared the lion introduced the pair 6 years ago, when they formed their unusual friendship when Milo sensed the lion was disabled, they tried to comfort and protect him, and they have been best friends ever since!
